The next community meeting regarding the plans
for renovation and proposed expansion of the
library will be held Monday, May 4 at 6:30 pm in
the library.
Councilmember Graham and DC Fire Chief
Rubin will be attending.

The planned agenda is:
1. Fire Safety - How well can
fires be fought today in this area?
How well could they be fought with the various
library renovation
options (within the walls, except for
mechanical, expansion on the
side, expansion on the back).
2. Quality of life issues for neighbors. Impact
of expansion alternatives on neighboring
buildings
3. Alternative uses for the current open space
vs using it for an expansion
4. Program needs for Mt. Pleasant Library - How
did DCPL determine the program needs and then
translate that into space requirements.
5. Alternative means of providing library
services to the entirety of Ward One
6. Other items as brought up prior to the
meeting, or at the meeting.
