Community Meeting on Parking Challenges for Mount Pleasant

I am sponsoring a meeting to discuss some parking challenges in Mount Pleasant.

The meeting will take place at 6:30pm on September 21 at La Casa  (3166 Mt Pleasant Street NW).

[Please forgive the short notice here. Due to an oversight this meeting was not previously announced on the Mount Pleasant list serve. However, THE FOLLOWING HAVE ALREADY BEEN INFORMED ABOUT THE MEETING:

* MT PLEASANT FORUM
* THE NEIGHBORS WHO WERE ON THE ORIGINAL ANNOUNCEMENT]

We have seen recent expansion of residential permit parking in Mt. Pleasant. Neighborhood institutions such as Bancroft Elementary and Stoddard Baptist Nursing Home can no longer park in the neighborhood. DDOT and residents have discussed possible solutions including:

-Adjustment to RPP hours to allow for some parking during the daytime.

-A pilot parking pass program that will allow institutions, organizations and local businesses to park in the neighborhood to a limited degree.

The purpose of this meeting is to discuss these and other ideas for neighborhood parking improvements.
